Coffee/Befriending Afternoons

Coffee/Befriending Afternoons were made a regular event following a successful first event during Freshers week. They are held every Wednesday afternoon, between 12PM and 3PM in the LGBTQ room and all undergraduate, postgraduate students and staff are more than welcome to attend.
Note: any changes to this will be emailed before the day of the event.
A chance to relax
Wednesday afternoons are, for most UoB students, free of lectures. Whether or not you have a grueling Wednesday morning schedule, the atmosphere in coffee afternoon is welcoming and pleasant and it’s a nice way to kick back and relax, talk about anything you want, make friends, and so on.
We are always well stocked with tea, coffee (including decaf), and occasionally biscuits. And yes, it’s all free.
An opportunity for forum and feedback
Members of the committee are almost always present at these events, providing an excellent opportunity to discuss any issues you may have with the association itself, or any pressing issues that you and/or fellow LGBTQ students face. The committee also tend to hold meetings on Wednesdays and often invite our members to participate.
We also welcome friends from the Guild Officer team, “gay-friendly” groups and representatives of other Unions/Guilds on occasion.
